A Life Lived Yet Unseen

It's you I've loved but never told,
Your face which piques my heart.
With who I thought I might grow old,
Until we'd someday part.
The one with whom I'd share so much,
Which endless we'd discuss.
Love's fair fates to each heart touch,
Of our futures make a fuss.
You're with me when I take a walk,
In its thoughts where deep inset.
I imagine how we'd laugh and talk,
Be so grateful that we'd met.
You're ever here but ever not,
A life lived yet unseen.
Not knowing where or doing what,
Who you are; will be; have been.
Your voice tones gently in my head,
Its melody brings you near.
I sense I've clear heard things you've said,
But still you don't appear.
Should I be of this resigned,
To a future never known?
My reckless hope reviewed, declined,
To wish forlorn, alone.
Yet I'll never cease to think of you,
And hope there'll be a day.
Kind kismet brings you into view,
And joyfully my way.
Until then we'll be lovers lost,
Ever close in waking dreams.
On a yearning sea both hopeful tossed,
Lone ships for now it seems.
