Bad Day

Bad Day

Nothing seemed quite right today,
As I went about its tasks.
Off my track I ran astray,
Responded poor to all its asks.

My bed only has a single side,
So that can't have been the reason.
But even though I've earnest tried,
I'm lost to temperamental treason.

And did I really do all that,
Or say those foolish things?
All which has left me feeling flat,
To this moment no joy brings.

Perhaps I'm tired and lacking rest,
Which puts me out of synch.
And leaves me far from being my best,
Sluggish, slow to clearly think.

There's nothing I can do though,
For all has been and gone.
And thinking through it blow by blow,
Will rarely cast new light upon.

So I'll just accept it for what it was,
Move on with new resolve.
As forgot it will be soon because,
Time such days hastes to dissolve.
