Be startled that we're briefly here,
To enjoy the dazzling day.
Before too quick we disappear,
Are back to nothing whisked away.

For life is a shock awaking,
Into existence unexpected.
A nowhere, fleet forsaking,
Short while from it brief defected.

Its light, its noise it's sheer delight,
All our senses keen employ.
A somewhere-scheduled Earth-bound flight,
Sunny sojourn to enjoy.

Though much we do, think write and say,
Create whilst in life's thrall.
May persist to live another day,
We'll not ourselves survive the call.

Try make existence what you can,
But be content, and calm abide.
Unclear our fate-allocated span,
Relax, enjoy the ride.
