Blue Light - Ancient and Modern

I bathed myself in bright blue light,
Just before I went to bed.
Against advice to do what's right,
And read a book instead.
Yet still I slept the deepest sleep,
Which came as ever soon.
No need to bother counting sheep,
For this blue light was The Moon.
I stood outside, enjoyed its glow,
Its vantage high and full.
Awash was everything below,
In brightest daytime dull.
Cool and still the night it shared,
With all whose way is lit.
Presiding over earth's affairs,
A sonata and the flit.
Then soon, with lunar musings done,
I was pleased I'd not relied.
On the dictum: screen blue light to shun,
That I wasn't the old denied.
