Daylight Draper

Daylight Draper

So, what's the purpose of overcast days.
Of cloud, no rain within?
Whilst sunshine behind it patient stays,
Not a contest it can win.

Groaning grey, all drab and cool,
Creates a cloud base mood.
Best to be busy at work or school,
To let the day get on and brood.

So close is the sun and deep blue sky,
But for a veil of velvet vapour.
A day when brighter light is shy,
Due to a visit from the daylight draper.
