Hedgehog

Hedgehog

Where does a Hedgehog go at dawn,
As nighttime slips away?
And does it have a little home,
Wherein it spends the day?

Does it have a family,
Some children; husband, wife.
Parents and relations,
With whom it shares its life?

I wonder what a Hedgehog dreams,
Whilst sleeping through the day.
If only they could tell us,
I wonder what they'd say.

And when again day turns to night,
Where does the Hedgehog wander?
What small thoughts occupy its mind,
What cares do Hedgehogs ponder?

How does a Hedgehog family feel,
When other Hedgehogs die?
As many do upon our roads,
I wonder if they cry?

Now when I see a Hedgehog close,
Stood still or tightly curled.
I realise that we don't know much,
About the Hedgehog world.
