How should love be true conveyed,
What best such a show empowers?
Years of devotion true repaid,
By drear last minute flowers?

And does a card same hurried bought,
True provide the means to say.
All you therein know you ought,
For this devotional display?

Too often I see a good chance lost,
To give thanks for a life, love shared.
But for the want of thought, not cost,
For which embarrassment can be spared.

Be original, novel, create surprise,
Take time to careful plan.
A loving heart then keen complies,
And so express great kindness can.

Think ahead with desire to please,
Don't equate joy with expense.
So it's what was meant the recipient sees,
For their love some recompense.

Love is precious, blooms full for few,
So buy such flowers if you dare.
Make good a show of what is due,
Lest it fades with lack of care.
