Last night I saw a supermoon,
Full phased and sunlight fed.
Up I was at night’s high noon,
When I should have been in bed.
This space-held mirror to hiding sun,
Was trying with all its might.
In case by Venus it be outdone,
To be the brightest of the bright.
Closer and much more luminous,
Than its normal monthly show.
From earth’s view, more voluminous
With ferocious facial glow.
This brilliant orb was battle scar bare,
And no feature could I find.
So intense its flawless floodlight glare,
That I found myself moon blind.
I wondered then to what degree,
I should be fully moon protected.
Be safe yet bathe a while to see,
Our daytime star reflected.
And so, I had a chat with those,
Whom I thought would likely know.
Who understand such galactic glows,
To bedazzlement closest go.
Now in future, I’ll be well prepared,
For this glorious garnered gleam.
Protected by, from NASA snared,
Moonglasses and best moon cream.
