Naughtiness of Night

From Inhospitable outside night,
I'm safe snuggled up, warm, cosy tight.
As wind wild stalks the streets and lanes,
And rain pepper prods at window panes.

Knowing well where it is I lie,
Around the house probe tendrils pry.
Trying at locked-tight windows, doors,
Failed entry, it each time ignores.

Eventually it tires, moves on,
The uppity entourage is gone.
Having failed to raise me from my bed,
Its naughtiness of night has fled.
