I love a place all cosy,
Safely snug and world-away.
Sun shady and reposey,
A welcome recess from the day.
Hideaway from open view,
Cosset calm with time-slowed pace.
Oneself and outlook to renew,
In a soul-refreshing space.
Beyond the reach of niggling noise,
Where quietude has a chance.
Are moments of poetic poise,
And their dialectic dance.
Port from troubling outside storms,
Though protestations heard.
This distant dialogue a sense informs,
Gives voice to the waiting word.
A place to think and read or write,
For insouciant introspection.
Happen upon some joy, delight,
By this moment of reflection.
Inglenook for the sidestepped mind,
Providing gentle susurration.
Flames to illuminate, help find,
Or reignite doused inspiration.
A place where bountiful captive caught,
For friendly redirection.
From time, emancipation bought,
To establish reconnection.
Such havens I try seek as and when,
If alone I need to be.
Few moments in a daytime den,
Just thoughts as friend, and me.
