Music, what a marvellous gift,
That melody and chords can lift.
The heaviest of hearts as high,
As fantasy will let them fly.

A rhyme can't possibly begin,
Explaining how a mind can win.
Such soaring thoughts, and deepest joy,
From a perpetually permutating ploy.

No poem has ever quite touched the soul,
Or made a person feel as whole.
As simple notes and rhythm can,
Life's piano fingers inspiring woman and man.
