There was a time when gone for the day, I was all but out of touch,
A phone box if available, the latest communications tech as such.
But now though even when far remote from all my colleagues, family, friends,
Anywhere I go, more modern tech me apprehends.

And though I can switch of my phone, I invariably don't,
And even though try contact me, people say for sure they won't.
I'm afraid as long as my device is on and therefore ever ringable,
Wherever I might be I'm ever potteringly pingable.
