Religion

Religion

Religion should be personal, and never embraced beyond that score,
And each should its expression only personal explore.
For collective worship mostly caters for just a single god,
And when potentially so diverse in thought, this to me seems rather odd.

And why should a religion not, be unique to you and me,
And account for the person in this life that we each aspire to be.
To better serve our spiritual needs in everything we do,
And make for a more contented faith for all and me and you.

Churches, temples mosques could then continue to exist,
But the requirement to be a collective voice we could with impunity resist.
And with difference then diluted to better serve our life debate,
Hopefully would be gone, much interdenominational hate.

My god is but a mirror of me, as I of god in the reverse,
And nothing in this relationship seems alien or perverse.
We can easy each discuss things as companions together,
Bespoke help me provided to inform, sustain endeavor.

There seems to be a human need to embrace a religious sense,
But this should never be a sacrifice or at our personal expenses.
Then all may well in this respect be better in the long term served,
And ultimately our nature better satisfied as deserved.
