Savior in a Sigh

If and when I get the chance,
I do enjoy a snooze.
Daytime pinched from night's expanse,
On its ocean, brief a cruise.
Short return from the wakened world,
To that near place far away.
A somewhere quiet, safe mental furled,
To where illicit free to stray.
Body in supercharging mode,
Refreshing brain's mental cache.
Its meter eased back from overload,
With a palliative panache.
It's a tonic unfair derided.
Yet it's the perfect panacea.
Gives direction when undecided,
Helps day's course to better steer.
So if flagging and there's a chance to snooze,
If you can, give its gifts a try.
With nothing but tiredness itself to lose,
Embrace this savour in a sigh.
