Sometimes Sun

Reading and music – see About

I wonder why to light our days,
We have a shy and sometimes sun.
And a game of hide and seek it plays,
Which often spoils our outdoor fun.
Perhaps this is just a sign of care,
To try protect us from extremes.
On seeing arms and legs dressed bare,
Those who might get burned, it seems.
And on spotting gardens with a thirst, and dry,
It summons clouds for shade or rain.
Concerned, maybe on us all does spy,
As fair balance it tries maintain.
Though as a result, its uncertain light,
Inspires a nation’s nuanced art.
So our surveilling sun in its way just might,
Be simply playing its creative part.
