Summer Sauntering

Summer Sauntering

Sauntering around in summer,
I admire the scene, its sky.
Good weather, now welcome newcomer,
About me, Swifts and Swallows fly.

Warm breeze propels small sunlit clouds,
Shape shifting as they go.
Dispersed, some gathered in cruising crowds,
All in a slow fairweather flow.

The light is noticeably brighter,
And all around is due reflected.
Making the world seem that much lighter,
Between bright buildings redirected.

Parks and gardens are abuzz with life,
Plant, animal and humankind.
With the season's joyous noises rife,
To sit a while I feel inclined.

The sun is warm and tries its best,
To entertain before its turn.
When as just a 3 month cruise ship guest,
Too soon we're standing at its stern.

So, I intend to enjoy it whilst I can,
All it while here has to lend.
And again returns to its voyaging plan,
Then slow away will elsewhere wend.
