The Handbag

It perhaps says quite a lot about the person that it wears,
Its style, its colour the shape and size, self image and all such cares.
And its many varied contents speak of worries and small concerns,
A lot about its owner a faithful handbag quickly learns.
This private pouch of personals is also dignity extended,
And unintended revelation leaves one embarrassingly offended.
Filled with little insights that you may not wish to share,
It has potential to your penchants, inadvertently lay bare.
It's a dutiful possession and companion to one's day,
And the source of visceral horror if it ever goes astray.
Then when at last it's tired and worn, and can serve the same no more,
It's the spare that lives thereafter hooked behind the bedroom door.
