The Queue

There's lots which can be thought of whilst you're standing in a queue,
It's a chance to quick mind-rifle through this life, the world and you.
To contemplate your place as there you stand and patient waiting,
An opportunity to do some cerebral contemplative cogitating.
It's a moment never you'd otherwise have to stop and stand and stare,
Into nothing but the ether, or at others standing there.
Brain shifted into neutral to quietly idle for a while,
A moment of detachment, thoughts unbidden to beguile.
And its a period within a day when you can use to calm take stock,
When your relationship brief changes with your day's companion clock.
Either now it quick speeds up or briefly there slows down,
Smiles to offer some rare relief, or frustrates you with a frown.
Either way, try use queues wisely, to on varied things reflect.
And the impulse to become inpatient try your best to quick reject,
For the queue is but a moment when day’s brake is hard applied.
And unplanned you can with your inner self unexpectedly confide.
