My dearest travel companion I met whilst doing my daily shop,
Love I guess at that first sight, I knew my search was at a stop.
You were all that I'd been looking for; fulfilled my restless needs,
Happy knowing that you would go to where my every passion leads.
My intimacies you know them all, to which no other I’d reveal,
We've been through every kind of weather, increasing your appeal.
My love for you yet greater with every year we've been together,
Exotic trips spent side by side ever strengthening its tether.
But the years have taken quite a toll and you're not quite as you were,
And I've lately seen another which I'm afraid I now prefer.
All good things come to an end and I'll be sad to see you go,
Whether bettered by your replacement, until I've tried I'll never know.
So thank you for all we've done and shared, the places we've both been,
Unswerving care provided, and all that we’ve as partners seen.
But now's the time to say goodbye, you to another's hand release,
Our life together I'll not forget; a fond farewell my dear Valise.
